| In order to find new drug of anti-inflammatory
effect, we used 5 Asteraceaes Grown in Taiwan to do experiment, and
we finally found 昭和草 is the best in anticomplement.
So we run column to segregate components
of 昭和草 extract. |

 introduction
|
The complement system is a set
of plasma proteins in the serum that act together to attack extracellular
forms of pathogens. Complement can be activate spontaneously on certain
pathogens or by antibody binging to the pathogen. The pathogens becomes
coated with complement protein that facilitate pathogen removal by phagocyte
and also kill the pathogen directly.
Why do we need to anticomplement? Because when pathogens infected the
host, an importment element of an immune response is the localization of
leucocytes and serum molebules to sites of infection. The plasma enzyme
kinin, clotting and plasmin systems, as well as mast cells, may all be activated
in inflammation, and produce the characteristic inflammatory response. When
inflammatory effect happens, the complement system may involve it. |
